WhatsApp Business finally goes official in India.The app was officially rolled out in markets like Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, UK and the United States a few days ago. The application is designed in a way to help businesses grow and easily communicate with their customers via WhatsApp. As of now, WhatsApp Business app is available only for the Android users, and you can download it on your device via Google Play Store . There are no words on when the app will roll out for the iOS users, however, chances are it may, very soon.
Last year in September, WhatsApp came up with a new pilot application built specifically for Businesses. Few popular names in India like BookMyShow had participated in the pilot phase. Now, the company has finally started launching the service for more countries and users.
This app for businesses comes with the option to make a detailed profile listing business hours, address and website information. Business accounts can contact and message customers on their regular WhatsApp accounts through this. As earlier, users can block business accounts or report them as spam should they wish to.
In the support page, titled “Verified Business Accounts ,” WhatsApp explains that it will display a green checkmark next to users when it has confirmed that the phone number associated with their account belongs to a business.
WhatsApp’s new app will make it easier for companies to connect with customers, and more convenient for our 1.3 billion users to chat with businesses that matter to them. Here’s how:
- Business Profiles: Help customers with useful information such as a business description, email or store addresses, and website.
- Messaging Tools: Save time with smart messaging tools — quick replies that provide fast answers to frequently asked questions, greeting messages that introduce customers to your business, and away messages that let them know you’re busy.
- Messaging Statistics: Review simple metrics like the number of messages read to see what’s working.
- WhatsApp Web: Send and receive messages with WhatsApp Business on your desktop.
- Account Type: People will know that they’re talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. Over time, some businesses will have Confirmed Accounts once it’s been confirmed that the account phone number matches the business phone number.
