India has the second-largest population on the planet, and India has more than 50% of its population below the age of 25 and more than 65% below the age of 35. It is expected that, in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years, compared to 37 for China and 48 for Japan and, by 2030, India’s dependency ratio should be just over 0.4.  According to the 2019 revision of the World Population Prospects population stood at  1.3+ Billion.

Based on a survey, all internet users have visited or used social media or messaging the past month and 51% Of internet users use voice search or voice commands.

Facebook Usage: An interesting fact: Facebook in India is 22% female and 78% male, which is a big difference from the worldwide statistics: 43% female and 57% male. The country has long been a growing market for the social media network as more Indians come online. However, based on new data sent to advertisers, Facebook now has 241 million active users in India – a million more than it does in the U.S.– making India the country with its largest user base for the first time. 

Youtube viewers: People in India love to watch videos, 62% have even streamed TV content via the internet. They also love to watch them on the go- 91% have watched them on mobile.

Time Spent on Social Media: On average, Indian users spent 2.4 hours on social media, in line with the global average.
